Technology

Mrs. Angie Weidemann

I began teaching technology to the students of St. John’s in 2020. I received my degree in Personal Finance from University of Columbia in 1998. Over the years I have had many opportunities to learn many programs that are beneficial to the students to help them prepare for the high school careers and beyond. I hope to instill in each student an understand and joy from working with technology.

*Students in grades 2 through 8 will be working on keyboarding for 10 minutes per class.

Typing Goals with 95% Accuracy - Monthly Typing tests will be used to determine their WPM (Words Per Minute)

3rd Grade 10 WPM 6th Grade 25 WPM
4th Grade 15 WPM 7th Grade 30 WPM

*Google classroom is a tool where students learn Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets. These programs are similar to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Google Classroom allows students to not have to worry about saving their work, it’s a touch easier, and it allows students to “Turn In” assignments directly to my account so I can view their progress. Students will also learn Microsoft programs as that is what is used still in the workplace.

*More assignments are done throughout the year.  This is just an idea of what the students learn per grade.

*All students will also get to work on Holiday themed lessons throughout the year.

*Each grade will do a Digital Citizens week. The students learn by grade what is appropriate and what isn’t when using computers and internet.
